Ripstik

Ripstik

A ripstik is basically a skateboard and a bike. It has two weals like a bike and is flat like a skateboard. To ride a ripstik you need balance. To move the ripstick you need to wiggle your legs. Using the ripstik is good for your leg muscles and helps you balance (plus the fact that its fun). Since the start of my second lockdown I've been practising using my ripstik. I started off going 60 centimetres practising with my sister. I asked my sister if I could try teaching myself so she left. Then I went a metre and before I new it I could go two metres. The next day I practised turning so I did a lap of my court. Then started learning to do two laps by turning the ripstik. After a lot of practise I'm now really good and can now go from my basketball hoop to my netball hoop and can do as much laps as I like. Anybody can ride a ripstik.

Calving

Calving

Ever since I was born I've been living on a farm. From November to February we start making silage for the farm. From August to May it is milking season. From August to September it is calving season, when its calving season we get baby cows (calfs) and feed them, so some can go to a different farm or we keep them so they can grow up and eat grass. 

Right now it's August (calving season) so I help mum everyday to feed the calves. we start by getting some milk then the calves change pens after there feed every morning. After we have too much calfs we take a fence away so there are lots of little pens and a giant big pen. If there are to much calves we can't feed them in that pen we drive a really huge feeder and put it in the pen. When all the calves are fed we wash the feeders. We only wash the feeders in the mornings not the afternoons. 

Don't forget to drink milk everyday because Milk Is good for your bones.

Today it started off with me watching MR Bean on TV. When every body wakes up Johanna, Lotte, Mum and me went onto the farm to feed the calfs. While Dad did something (I don't know what) with the cows. When we got home I practised riding on the ripstick. Then after a few hours I came inside so mum could measure me and weigh me. then we went back on the farm to feed the calfs while dad did a thing with the cows. I must say the calfs did well on feeding. There were none that didn't feed. Then we went home and I fed our two dogs some biscuits  meanwhile our other dog did something else. (probably trying to finding Mum) Then I went inside and went on my chrome book to write a blog about my day.

Chess

 Chess

Chess is a very old game but is still here now.  Chess is 1500 years old. The pawn can start off moving 1 or 2 squares. If you move 1 square with a pawn you can not move 2 any more. The castle can move up, down left and right. The horse can jump over pieces as well as moving two squares then going to the side one square. A bishop can only go on an angle. The queen can move on an angle or go left, right, up or down. A king can go any direction but it can only go one square at a time. The aim of the game is to get the other teams king. So if I was you I would keep your king very safe.

Setting up: To set up you have to get you castle on each side. Then you horse goes next to you castle. Then you bishop goes next to your horse. Then you queen and king go in the middle. the queen will go on the opposite colour so if you have a white queen you put it on the black and the king goes next to you.

cool move: This move is called the castle move. If you have not moved you king or castle you can swap there positions.

STAR WARS

STAR WARS

Ever since I was four or five, I"ve been a huge fan of Star Wars. Why you may ask? Well it's a long story. Lets go back to when I was five. When I was five Dad was watching tv. He was watching Star Wars. Then I sat down and watched. At first I thought the Jedi's were super heroes. Then after a year I was six. When I was six I understood things more. I knew what was happening and I knew the peoples' names. Then I was seven. When I was seven I loved Star Wars so much whenever there was a chance to watch it I would take it. I'm going to make a chart of what I felt watching it every year. 

5 years old: ? 

6 years old: 😀

Yep that's how it went. At first I had no clue what was happening and now I'm a big fan. Anyhow I'm going to tell you the main characters and why they are. First lets go with Darth Vader. Before Darth Vader was evil his name was Anikan. Aniken was trained by Obi-Wan. One episode Anikan was tricked by the Sith. Obi-Wan tried to stop him but it was too late. Anikan had turned evil. Then Obi-Wan and Anikan had a fight at a lava planet. Obi-Wan chopped Anikan in half but Anikan was so angry that the power of the Force healed him. Then the Sith found him and made him Darth Vader. Time for Yoda: Yoda was one of the best Jedi's. He was very strong with the force but always wanted peace. Fun fact: Did you know that Star Wars is about the sky walkers, every episode had a sky walker, like Anikan Sky Walker, Luke Sky Walker, Laya Sky Walker and other characters. After the last Star Wars film was released, Star Wars The Rise Of Sky Walker. They made one more Star Wars film, but this time it wasn't about the Sky Walkers this time it was about a little person people call baby Yoda. It's called the Mandolorean. Fun fact: did you know that Baby Yoda's real name is Grogru. And that's it for you folks. Next time I might talk about another movie.

SPCA

 SPCA.

The SPCA is a place for pets when they are injured, sick neglected, abandoned and abused 

so they have to give them to the SPCA. An SPCA is a bit like a vet but they do much more stuff to help

pets. The SPCA doesn't just do pets they can do other things like birds. 

SPCA stands for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

 Imagine that you were invited to join Nainoa for three weeks at sea. You are asked to pack your own food. List 10 food items that you could take on the trip. Remember you will not have a fridge or freezer!

Movies.

 Movies.

Movies have been around for a very long time, the first Movie ever made was made in 1888. It was Round Hay Garden Scene. When I grow up I might make movies and cartoons. There are a lot of types of movies: musicals, cartoon movies, violent movies, (not for kids) monster movies, animal movies, human movies, non-fiction movies and fiction movies. My favourite movie is called Star Wars and my favourite musical is The Greatest Showman.

 What Happens If You Read To Much?

Do you ever wonder what happens when you read too much? We are about to find out. you should read a book for 30 minutes a day but why should we, you might think well if you read the whole day none stop you could forget very important stuff like maths and other stuff. I am not saying you should never read I am just saying that you can't read for so long. the first ever book made was called The Epic of Gilgamesh.

Fun fact. Did you know that you can get a headache just by reading for a long time?

Food

  Food.

Food can be tasty, some food is gross. 🤮 Some food you can be allergic to. I am writing about food because I love food so much. My favourite food is tacos. Tacos are a type of food you can put lettuce meat, vegetables and other stuff in it. A taco is like a burrito or a rap. Fun fact, water is more important than food. People can survive with no food for 30-40 days just drinking water. Sometimes when you read or write about food you get hungry.

Maori Language Week

Maori Language Week.

Maori Language Week has been around since 1975. Maori Language Week is a week to represent New Zealand Maori. Maori Language Week is a bit like SaintPatrick's day but you celebrate Maori. For Maori Language Week I celebrated by speaking as much Maori as I can. In Maori my name is Rihi. 

 UFO's. 

UFO's are one of the most wrest sights to see. before I tell you fact's I just need to tell you that 

UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. once I went to bed and I saw moving thing's going in slow motion at there were 50 of them and they were going up at first I thought they were shooting stars. but then I thought they were to slow to be stars, they must be UFO's I thought. 

Any way back to the facts. UFO's have been around for a long time. Once kids at a school saw

one and screamed and ran to the teacher the teacher told them to draw what they saw in every drawing there was lights all the drawings also looked like a UFO the UFO had been hidden behind two tree's. UFO's are a type of space craft for aliens so if you come to think of it aliens are real. Some people tell story's and movie's about UFO's. Most UFO's look different to others. People believe that lot's of UFO's will come to earth and then the world will end. Some people believe that UFO's are real and some don't. 

Fish.

Fish can be found all over the world. You may like to eat fish, admire them at zoo’s, do some fishing, or even keep them for pets. Fish can be plant eaters, meat eaters or both meat and plant eaters.Many fish can taste without opening their mouth. Fish can come in different shapes and sizes the smallest is paedocypris and the biggest is a whale shark. Sea horse’s don’t have teeth so they have to suck in their food holes. They need very small food because they are very small. The male seahorse gives birth to the babies not the female. There are over 30000 known species of fish. The smallest shark is the lantern shark. At night fish don’t sleep, fish can rest though. At night they hunt for food.Fish don’t go up for air instead they have gill’s so they breve under water. If you touch a fish’s gills it may die. Many fish can see in the dark better than cats. Tuna can swim at speeds of up to 70 kph (43 mph). The smallest whale is the dwarf sperm whale. My favourite fish is the lantern fish. There are 4 ocean zones, the sunlight zone, twilight zone, midnight zone and the abyssal zone. The first fish ever discovered was the pikaia. Shark’s do not have bones.Here are the types of sharks I know. Hammerhead shark, basking shark, sawshark, Thresher Shark, carpet shark, nurse shark, goblin shark, blue shark, bull shark, great white shark, mako shark, tiger shark, mega mouth shark, greenland shark, whale shark, pygmy shark, dwarf shark, and the sand shark.There are 4.3 million squid in the world. And 44 species of dolphins. Baby fish are called fry. A fish surrounds itself by it’s snot to protect itself? Some flatfish camouflage to hide themself on the ocean floor. Goldfish can’t close their eyes as they have no eyelids. One puffer fish contains enough poison to kill 30 people. Starfish are able to grow a new arm if you cut one off. My favorite fact is that when Anglerfish mate, they melt into each other and share their bodies forever.I would not mess with the box jellyfish, they are the deadliest jellyfish in history and The most dangerous fish to eat is fugu. If I was you I would not race a sailfish they may not be the fastest animal on earth, but they are the fastest fish in the world. and The last fact is The first fish to walk on land was the tiktaalik.

an actor, maybe a rapper and a book writer. I want to be an actor because I have all ready thought of some movies. here are the movies: Dibs, Dude Team, Butt Man, Man Fire and Mouse Man. I want to be a book writer because I love reading books. and I know some other books I want to write: Super Granny, Man Fire, Butt Man, Fire Dudes and Teddy World. I have all ready started writing some books. I might be a rapper because I wrote some down but I can't think of a name.
